The Brothers Grimm

The Brothers Grimm (German: Die Brüder Grimm or Die Gebrüder Grimm), Jacob Grimm (4 January 1785 – 20 September 1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (24 February 1786 – 16 December 1859), were German academics best known for publishing collections of folk tales and fairy tales, which subsequently became very popular.[1] Jacob also carried out academic work in linguistics, related to how the sounds in words shift over time (Grimm’s law.

What do the stories of Cinderella , Snow White, and Sleeping Beuty have in common? They are all stories collected by two brothers, They are Jacob and Whilhelm Grimm, who were born in Germany in 1780s. Almost everybody knows these stories, but the Brothers Grimm were more than just story collectors.

  1. It took me forever to find a real, non-P.C. version of Grimm's Fairy Tales with pictures for my kids. I remember reading them when I was young and always get bent out of shape when I hear the "new" versions of these stories!
